Mega-Sites of Job Listings
Welcome to the Job Shopping Malls of the Internet
Here you can search or browse through:
- dated job openings
- for many different types of positions
- from many named employers.
These sites are so large and so rich that it's tough to tell them apart. How do you decide which of these mega-sites has the jobs you're looking for?
First, decide if you are interested in national or local listings. You may find the national listings valuable even if you want to stay in California: look for companies with a local presence who may be advertising for positions elsewhere. This is a clue that the company is expanding. There may be a California job that hasn't been advertised.
Electra has tried to evaluate the sites in terms of California coverage and whether or not they also include "Low-Tech" jobs.
As you'll soon discover, many of the job listings on the Web are for computer-types. What about less technical titles such as Nurse Practitioner, Human Resources
Manager, Inventory Control Clerk? The "% of Low-Tech Jobs" is a rough guide to whether these positions are also covered in the site.
Use the ratings as a rough guideline--your mileage may vary.
