Sample Functional Resume 6

Susan Ireland's Comments:
Job Seeker Hates his Current Job

Rex Robinson's career was running full-speed ahead until he landed in his current job. After giving it a good try, he had to admit that it just wasn't working out because of some personality conflicts among his co-workers. So in the winter of 2009, he decided to look for a position in a different financial institute.

His functional resume allowed him to list his current position in the Work History section without saying anything more about it. He then spotlighted his best jobs by writing achievement statements under relevant skill headings in the body of his resume. In this clever way, his resume made him look like a star performer, without drawing attention to his less desirable position.
